The short version: Rurru doesn't collect any data. It doesn't use the internet at all.
What we collect
Nothing. Rurru has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. We don't know who uses Rurru, which sounds you play, or when you sleep.
How the sounds work
Every sound is generated live on your iPhone or iPad. Rurru doesn't download or stream audio, and it works with no connection at all, including in airplane mode.
What Rurru keeps on your device
All of this lives in the app's private storage, protected by iOS file protection:
| What | Why | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| The sounds you had on, and their volumes | So your mix is ready next time | Turn the sounds off, or delete the app |
| Mixes you saved | They're your mixes | Delete them in the app (touch and hold a mix), or delete the app |
| Settings (fade-in, fade-out length, headphones, playing with other apps, binaural pack, baby mode sound and volume) | Your preferences | Delete the app |
| Wake-up alarm and bedtime reminder times | So they ring every day | Turn them off in the app, or delete the app |
| The name and colors of your last mix, shared with Rurru's own widgets (an App Group on your device) | So the widget shows what Play will start | Delete the app |
| The wake-up chime sound file, made on your device | iOS plays it for the alarm notification | Delete the app |
| Whether the unlock is active, and when you last previewed each sound | So the app works offline without asking the App Store each time, and allows one preview per sound a day | Delete the app. Apple keeps the purchase itself, so Restore Purchase brings it back |
The sleep timer runs only while the app is playing and is not saved.
Purchases
The one-time unlock goes through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment. Rurru only receives confirmation from Apple, on your device, that the purchase is valid. We never see your name, email or payment details.
Lock Screen and Control Center
While a mix plays, Rurru shows its name on the Lock Screen and in Control Center so you can pause it. That information stays on your device and disappears when playback stops.
Notifications
If you turn on the wake-up alarm or the bedtime reminder, Rurru asks iOS for permission to show notifications and schedules them on your device. They're local notifications: nothing is sent to a server, and Rurru doesn't use push notifications.
Siri, Shortcuts and widgets
Rurru offers actions like "Play rain" to Siri and the Shortcuts app, and widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Center. They run on your device and only start or stop sounds.
Children
Rurru doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published here with a new effective date.
