The short version: SiteLog doesn't collect any data. Your jobs, photos and clients' details never leave your device unless you share them.
What we collect
Nothing. SiteLog has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. We don't know who uses SiteLog, what jobs you document, or who your clients are.
Where your information goes
Nowhere. Taking photos, marking them up, recording voice notes, filling in checklists, scanning documents, writing estimates and invoices, and creating PDF reports all happen on your iPhone or iPad. SiteLog doesn't upload anything and works with no connection at all.
Something leaves the app only when you choose to send it: for example, when you share a report or a project file by AirDrop, Mail or the share sheet, print it, or save it to Files. Where it goes from there is up to you. Tapping a client's phone number, email or address hands off to Phone, Mail or Maps, and only when you tap.
Camera, microphone, location and speech
SiteLog asks for each permission only when you first use the feature that needs it:
| Permission | When it's asked | What happens with it |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | When you first take photos or scan a document | Photos and scans are saved inside the project, on your device |
| Location (while using the app) | Only if you turn on Stamp photos with GPS | Your coordinates are measured on the device and stored with new photos. SiteLog never looks up street addresses, because that would send your location to a server. With the stamp off, photos carry no location at all |
| Microphone | When you first record a voice note | The recording is saved inside the project |
| Speech recognition | When you first record a voice note | Voice notes are transcribed on your device only. SiteLog never uses Apple's server-based recognition; if your device has no on-device model for your language, the note keeps its audio and isn't transcribed |
| Face ID / Touch ID | Only if you turn on App Lock | Used by iOS to unlock the app; SiteLog never sees your biometric data |
Photos you import are picked with the system photo picker, which doesn't give SiteLog access to your library. Photos saved by SiteLog don't keep camera details or location in the image file itself.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment. SiteLog only receives confirmation from Apple, on your device, that the purchase is valid. We never see your name, email or payment details.
What SiteLog keeps on your device
All of this lives in the app's private storage, protected by iOS file protection:
| What | Why | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| Projects: client details, notes, photos, markup, voice notes and transcripts, checklists, scans, estimates, invoices and signatures | They're your work | Delete the project in the app, or delete the app |
| Your business details, logo, line-item library and checklist templates | To fill in estimates and brand reports | Edit them in the app, or delete the app |
| Settings (GPS stamp, App Lock, report choices…) | Your preferences | Delete the app |
Your projects are included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup, and nowhere else.
Children
SiteLog doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published here with a new effective date. SiteLog will never start collecting your data.
