The short version: Transcribe doesn't collect any data. Your recordings and transcripts never leave your device unless you export them.
What we collect
Nothing. Transcribe has no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. We don't know who uses Transcribe, what you record, or what your transcripts say.
Where your recordings go
Nowhere. Recording, transcription, summaries and questions all run on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, using Apple's on-device speech recognition and Apple Intelligence. Transcribe itself makes no network connections.
The first time you use speech in a language, your device may download Apple's on-device model for that language. That download is made by the operating system, not by Transcribe, and no user data is sent: none of your audio, transcripts or recordings leave the device. After that, the language works offline.
A recording or transcript leaves the app only when you choose to send it, for example when you export a PDF through the share sheet or save a file to Files or iCloud Drive. Where it goes from there is up to you.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment. Transcribe only receives confirmation from Apple, on your device, that the purchase is valid. We never see your name, email or payment details.
What Transcribe keeps on your device
All of this lives in the app's private storage. On iPhone and iPad it uses iOS's strongest file protection, so it can't be read while your device is locked.
| What | Why | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| Audio, transcripts, summaries, speaker names and markers | They're your recordings | Delete a recording in the app, or delete the app |
| Questions you asked about a recording | So you can see the answers again | Turn off Settings › Keep question history, or delete the recording |
| Folders, tags and settings | Your organization and preferences | Delete the app |
Your device's own backups (iCloud or computer) include app data by default, encrypted by Apple. You can exclude recordings with Settings › Exclude recordings from device backups.
Children
Transcribe doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published here with a new effective date. Transcribe will never start collecting your recordings.
